Residents of Lincoln Square come together often for annual festivals and celebrations. The Square Roots festival is hosted by Old Town School of Folk Music and the chamber of commerce. It celebrates the local craft breweries and musicians. There’s also plenty of great food and a marketplace of vendors. The mid-July nights are filled with dance parties, classes, and open jam sessions. In September, the community hosts the German-American Oktoberfest. Festival goers indulge in traditional German food, beers, and treats. Dance and sing to German music, and shop local vendors. There are lots of carnival games for kids, too.
