There has been an uptick in new home sales this year, which is a very positive sign for the housing market. In January, new home sales rose 16 percent from what they were in December, according to USA Today. This is the highest it’s been since July 2008, and things are only getting better.

The recent uptick is a sure sign that the housing market is improving. On top if that, consumer confidence is growing, and more and more people are buying homes and taking out loans.

Some reasons for the acceleration are that there has been a rise in steady job creation and mortgage rates are nearly at a record low, according to Star Tribune Business.

So if you’re thinking about buying a home, know that now is a good time to buy! Hopefully, we will watch the market continue to rise as we move forward through 2013.
