McCormick place was bustling this weekend with the International Home + Housewares Show. One of the largest housewares expo in the world, the show featured the latest products from 60,000 home goods professionals. More than 2,100 exhibitors held booths from 34 countries all over the world to show off some of the latest and greatest gadgets in the world of housewares.

Some of the biggest celebrities who made an appearance included Cake Boss, Top Chef judge Gail Simmons, Charm City Cakes’ Duff Goldman and Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto.

One of the biggest trends at the expo this year were DIY soda makers, specifically, SodaStream. According to, SodaStream recently announced a new nearly $4,000 Samsung refrigerator with soda water dispenser.

Some of the best-of-the-best product winners were a gourmet harmonic-whistling kettle, a one-touch automatic cappuccino machine and an ultrasonic aroma diffuser.

Other new items included the Genius Microwave with a sensor cook which takes the guess work out of cooking meals in a microwave and a Breakfast Deluxe Center that will make you four cups of coffee, toast your bread and, using the heat from the toaster, make eggs on the top.
